Thank you so much for everything you did to bring Zahne into our life. She is turning out to be an incredible dog. She has made a very smooth transition into our family. She is getting along fabulously with Rico our 4 year old dobe, and both cats. They can't get enough of each other. Knowing what an energetic dog Rico was and how jealous he can be, I was really worried that he would have a hard time adjusting to a new girl, but you picked the perfect dog for us. She has enough spunk to put up with him and enough energy to keep up.
We are also impressed with both how smart she is and how brave. We have been remodeling our kitchen and we took out the flooring so only the subfloor was left, which had cracks that showed through to the basement below. Rico wouldn't go near that room, but Zahne just walked right across it, like any other surface with no fear at all. She also proved herself when I had to use the shop-vac and during the deconstruction process, and while I was sawing and hammering away. She never flinched. In fact, she decided to take a nap on the floor as close to me as she could. She has also done well everywhere I've taken her, the vet, the pet shop, friends' houses, and my school. She is not afraid of new people or new situations (even riding in my jeep with no doors, or roof, and flying in a Cessna).
She has also advanced extremely quickly in her puppy training. She has been to two lessons. In the first lesson she learned the "sit", the "come" and what a leash was. This week she picked up the "down", and started working on the "heel". Our trainer was very impressed with how fast she acquired those commands. By the end of our lesson today she was heeling amazingly, considering she only saw a leash for the first time last week. I know it took us at least 4 weeks to get to this point with Rico (I like to think we are better trainers now than we were with him too!). Our trainer is trying hard to convince us to compete with her.
We couldn't be more pleased with her. She really is the perfect addition to our family, just what we were missing. I can't wait until she is old enough to go on walks with Rico and I. Thank you so much for all your hard work with this litter. It is easy to see she was raised in a loving home, where she could grow up fearless and secure, ready to learn. I just hope you are still breeding dogs 7 or 8 years from now when we will be ready for another one!

Linda and Larry,

We wanted to thank both of you so much for our first doberman, ZEUS. Thank you so much for the constant communications, updates, pictures, helpful advise and words of wisdom. You opened your home for our visit and we were able to see all of the commitment, loyalty and dedication you have to Portia, Schatzi, Deacon and Lexie. Thanks for all of the 'sleepless' nights you had and for all of your love and sacrifice given to the puppies during their time in your home. We look forward to the future with both of you.

We have had the privilege of visiting with the Kye's even before the pups were born. We have really appreciated their attention to details all along the way and the loving care they have given each puppy after being born. This is all a new experience for us, but even without comparison, we can tell these puppies are getting the best start in life they possibly can! We really appreciate the Kyes dedication.

Kye's Perfect Match A.K.A. Striker
Both Stormy and Striker have become such a joy! They both get along so well, and wouldn't know what to do without one another. They are doing really well in training and are eager to learn more. It has been a pleasure to work with both Larrry and Linda. They always seem to know the answers to all of our questions with training, growing-up, etc.
We have become members of the Mid-South Working Doberman Club, the UDC, and the Arkansas Schutzund Club (where we are in training). The dogs love to work!!!! It has been fun to see one of their siblings at training too. We get to swap stories and info. about how life is treating them. Stormy and Striker seem to be very well rounded and we can't wait to see what all they will accomplish in the future! Thanks again to the Kye's for bringing them into our lives!

I bought my first Doberman in 1973, fell in love with the breed and have owned one ever since. When I was searching for a new puppy I was impressed by Larry and Linda’s breeding program, health screening and training goals. I determined that their philosophy was exactly what I was looking for. I purchased a puppy from the Schatzi/Topper breeding.

I was extremely impressed by the way that Jake had been raised and cared for before I picked him up at eight weeks of age. He was very well socialized with both adults and children, had been introduced to a variety other dogs, had begun crate training, was acclimated to a leash, and had a good start to being housebroken.

Larry and Linda even had him try out the “sherpa” bag which was purchased for his airplane flight home with me. I was also presented with a homemade tug that Jake’s Mother and the litter had played with so that he would have a scent reminder of his former home during his first days with us.

The best way to summarize all this is to say that Jake’s beginning in life was in a very loving and caring home, not a kennel.

Over the next couple of years, I cannot count the number of times that we have talked over the phone and by e-mail. The subjects have ranged from health to feeding to training to behavioral and just general “dog talk.” At all times Larry and Linda have been extremely friendly, helpful, encouraging and a wonderful resource. I am so happy with Jake that I have reserved another puppy from a future breeding.

Lozen
Lozen is doing great! She is 37 lbs. she is so smart when she needs to go out she gets her lead & brings it to you. She can sit shake hands stay and is almost 100% house broke. If she does have an accident, she goes to her kennel stays for 15 minutes all on her own. Can you believe that she knows she messed up and puts herself in time out all by herself? I have never seen or head of anything like this in all my 23 years in practice as a veterinarian. Both ears are standing great.

 Thanks and Best Regards

My beautiful pup Doc, from Portia’s litter is my fourth Dobie. The first, a two year old rescue came into my life thirteen years ago, and I was forever hooked. When cancer took him four years later, two more Dobie treasures were sharing my life. Last summer cancer struck again; then cardiomyopathy this spring, leaving my home empty. During the course of their illnesses I was horrified to learn how wide spread both have become in today’s Doberman population in addition to other genetic problems.
However, life without a Dobie was and is unthinkable. The specter of genetic problems loomed large while searching for my next pup. Finding a breeder committed to health and soundness above all else was my prime consideration. When I found your website the genetic testing done on all of your dogs immediately caught my attention. It spoke volumes about the quality of your breeding program. Your commitment to soundness and devotion to the breed was obvious the first time we spoke about upcoming litters.
Now eight months later I believe without reservation you represent the epitome of what a breeder should be. From the very beginning you thoroughly addressed my health concerns. You kept me informed each step of the way during Portia’s breeding and subsequent pregnancy. You went out of your way to have Doc’s ears done before I picked him up when I discovered there are not vets in my area who do crops. From the day he came home you’ve remained ready and willing to mentor my efforts long distance, ensuring Doc will have every chance to reach his potential. In all aspects I am proud to own one of your puppies.

Kye's Fire In The Sky
I had always wanted a Doberman Pinscher. When I knew I was going to be buying a house with a yard soon, I started looking around right away for the best place to get my buddy! I was very lucky to find that I lived only 15 minutes away from Larry and Linda Kye of Kye's Kennels. I still remember my first phone call on a Sunday afternoon, asking about a next litter and all the other details. At no time during the conversation did it ever sound like a "transaction" from her end, never during the whole process for that matter. I was going to have to wait a few months for the next litter of babies to arrive. The Kye's invited my wife and me over to their house several times during this waiting period to see the dogs. Right away I knew this was the right place for us to get our puppy! You can just tell that the Kye's are proud of their dogs; they are their family and NOT a "supplemental source of income." They breed their dogs to preserve the breed and standard of the true Doberman Pinscher. Since I lived so close, I was delighted when I was invited to be so involved in everything! Lets just say when it was time to pick up Kaizer (my pup) it was definitely not the first time I saw him! It was such an awesome experience to get a puppy form the Kye's that when it's time to do it again (Kaizer wants a sister I just know it) that I will look forward to the same great experience I had the first time. Kaizer has now since grown into a one year old man/dog. Talk about a personality this boy has gained over the year! What a fun dog he is when he’s awake, and what a cuddle bear/ wanna be lap dog he is when he’s sleepy! I can’t find a single thing that will make that guy flinch or hesitate. He lives with me, my wife and a mini poodle Lola....yeah mini poodle, never once has he shown any aggression toward his 8lb sister, and I don’t even need to worry about it, neither does Lola, she knows she the boss! One time I found some random little dog in my backyard, playing with Kaizer! What a relief it was to have a good sound minded Doberman! If you are looking for a Doberman Pinscher this is it. I waited for a very long time because I wanted it to be right when it happened. I am in the Military and when I have to leave for months at a time, this dog will put a lump in my throat and make my eyes water... whatever that means!? Ha-ha, Larry and Linda are more friends to me than they are "breeders." I cannot say enough about them, or my overall experience!

Thank you so much for everything you do, all the extra effort really pays off in the end!

Maggie
Maggie is my first doberman and I could not be happier with her. When I started my search for a dobie breeder, I had no idea I would find such a gem in Linda and Larry. From the moment the decision was made to purchase a puppy, the Kyes kept me updated on the breeding progress and all current puppy news from beginning to end.

When I visited their home, I could tell these dogs were treated like members of the family and not second class citizens. All puppies are kept inside a well maintained and clean environment and receive all necessary vet care. My journey did not end when I paid for and picked up my puppy. I have kept in regular contact with Linda and Larry and train with them at the Arkansas Schutzhund Club. They have graciously passed along training tips to help me reach the goal of titling my dog. I will also be attending seminars in the near future to further advance my training.
Linda and Larry know exactly how to pick the right puppy for your home. I got exactly what I asked for in a Doberman. When I add another dobie to my family, I won't go anywhere but Kye’s Kennels. Behind every wonderful dog there are wonderful people and you won't find any better dog breeders or more importantly, you won't find better human beings than Linda and Larry Kye.
